As many as 70 Xiaomi smartphones lose support
Although smartphone manufacturers are trying to offer longer support for their models more and more often, this time still ends. Xiaomi has published a list of 70 Xiaomi and Redmi models that will no longer receive updates.
Among the manufacturers of Android smartphones, Samsung and Google offer the longest support for their devices. other vendors still stick to two or three years maximum security support and two major system updates. It is no different in the case of Xiaomi.
The Xiaomi Security Center has published an extensive list of devices whose support is just ending. this means they will no longer receive software and security updates. They are three-year-old or older models, and the latest smartphones to join them are the Xiaomi Mi 9 SE and Mi Play (the last system update included Android 11 and MIUI 12.5). Of course, it should be remembered that although devices from this list have fallen out of the update schedule, in the event of critical errors, the company will certainly issue an appropriate fix for them.
If you look at the list below, you can see that some older models are missing, such as Mi 8 and Redmi Note 7. Why? Here, the matter is simple, these smartphones were huge sales hits and apparently it is still not profitable to abandon them.
