Stay active as you age to prevent paralysis

According to a study conducted in California, passive activity in old age increases the risk of stroke in the elderly by 14%. In other words, both physical activity and inactivity can increase the risk of contracting this disease.

According to a study conducted by a university in the United States, those who spend more than 13 hours per day sitting are more likely to develop cardiovascular disease than those who spend less than 11 hours per day sitting. Spending more money increases the likelihood of having a stroke.

In contrast, 25 minutes of exercise per day reduced the risk of stroke by over 40 percent.

Studies have shown that laziness can lead to a buildup of fat in the arteries, which increases the risk of heart disease.
By reducing cholesterol, blood pressure, and fat, physical activity reduces the risk of stroke.

An average of 63-year-old men and women in the United States have motion tracking devices installed by experts at the University of San Diego in the state of California.

Participants in the study were required to wear an accelerometer on their backs for a week, which measured the frequency and intensity of their movement.

They were required to wear the device for 16 hours per day, but were permitted to remove it while sleeping.

The results were measured in the hours following a period of inactivity, light exercise, such as walking around the house, or moderate exercise, such as cycling. ۔

Inactive activities include long periods of sitting, lying down, or standing.

Seven years later, researchers analysed their medical records and determined that those who were sedentary for more than 13 hours per day had a greater risk of stroke.
