crucial.com

Your computer's memory is a part that enables quick access to data, which is necessary for instantaneous tasks like loading apps, web browsing, or spreadsheet editing. The simplest technique to boost system speed rapidly in a slow PC is to add extra memory.

If you're anything like us, you use your computer for a variety of simultaneous tasks. You might be looking at photographs, browsing the internet, and revising a document at the same time. This inevitably causes a performance issue because each software you're running competes for memory from a finite supply of resources. Install high-density modules in each RAM slot on your laptop to get around this and multitask without interruption.

One of the most economical ways to boost performance is with a memory update, which costs a fraction of what a new machine would. Give your laptop the resources it requires to function to get more use out of it.

Crucial Laptop Memory is the gold standard for dependable performance as a brand of Micron, one of the biggest memory producers in the world. We have designed the memory technologies that have run the world's computers for 40 years and counting, ranging from the original SDRAM technology to DDR4. Don't accept less than the best.

Flying Ants: Harmless or Dangerous?

Winged ants are an uncommon phenomena that begs many questions. Some individuals are so anxious about the winged crawlers that their alarm bells are even ringing. When the eerie insects start to gather in large groups, you start to think you're in a scary movie. We describe the significance of the enigmatic flying ants.

Where do flying ants come from?

First and foremost, ants with wings are just regular ants. They are bigger than the typical examples of their sort, though. They are primarily members of the yellow or black-grey garden ant species here (Lasius flavus or niger). The males and females with wings are sexually mature individuals who were selected at birth to found new ant colonies.

The few eggs deposited by the queen develop into what are known as "sex animals," whereas the workers, guards, and soldiers in the ant colony remain essentially sterile. Unfertilized eggs give rise to males, while fertilised eggs produce females. These animals are raised in a stately manner in the den and consequently develop into stately creatures. Wings are exclusive to these particular sex animals.

The ants' wings serve only one function: to spread. Only when they have enough partners to mate with do the males and females fly far enough to establish a new colony. When the July weather is dry, warm, and windless, the winged ants wait in their home hive until that day. In numerous colonies, the ant nuptial flight occurs simultaneously. Then, all flying ants of one species swing into the air simultaneously, as though in response to an invisible signal. This is how the enormous, impressively sized swarms of winged gigantic ants congregate. During this nuptial flight, each female mates with a number of males. She saves the seed for later use.

Are flying ants dangerous?

In the home and yard, flying ants are absolutely non-aggressive and harmless. Finding other ants is the only objective of the insects. Individual animals enjoy getting lost in living rooms, drawn by the light, but sadly, people and their homes are frequently in the way. However, flying ants are not harmful. They don't bite, sting, or harm objects. There is no need to attack the animals because the ants are not actually a problem and are not hostile.

However, since the females will eventually become queens, it is best to prevent them from looking for a nesting location indoors. Put the insects back outdoors and use fly screens to secure the windows and entrances. By the way, the fright passes just as rapidly as summer's flying insects. After a few days, the animals stop their protracted quest for a mate and leave the area. After mating, the males perish. The females become the queens of their own colonies after biting off their wings.

Acer Predator Orion 3000 is decent gaming PC

The Acer Predator Orion 3000 is one of the few reliable and affordable pre-built desktops available to PC gamers worldwide.

Acer Predator Orion 3000 Gaming PC
Source: Acer.com

The RTX 3060Ti, 16GB of memory, and SSD storage are all features of this $2800 desktop's 11th Gen Intel processor..The older CPU may be a bottleneck for some spec freaks, but it was never a problem for me.

Compared to the Orion 5000 and 7000, the Orion 3000 is smaller. Despite lacking an RTX 3080 or water cooling, the Orion 3000 is a fantastic work and play computer. We must keep in mind the high price of graphics cards.

Our review unit still features the angular, outdated design. It stands out to me and I think it looks fantastic. This design was a two-year upgrade. It is  pretty compact. It's 175mm wide, 386mm deep, and 392mm tall and fits on my desk with an ultrawide monitor and printer without crowding.

The case has several practical improvements and is built for better ventilation. The front I/O and a retractable headphone stand are revealed when two concealed panels are opened. It was good, however the ports shouldn't be hidden. Additional ports for permanent components are located at the back. I appreciate that the Orion 3000 has Bluetooth and Wi-Fi built in.

The front RGB fan of the Orion 3000 takes in cool air while releasing heated air because it is air-cooled. Acer used the OEM Intel cooling, which is substandard. There are coolers that look and function better. Despite my nitpicking, the CPU and GPU remained cool throughout extended gaming sessions. Except when in Turbo mode, the combination operates without a hitch. Surprisingly, the Orion 3000 was quieter than the Alienware Aurora R14.

I was amazed by the RGB lighting zones on the Orion 3000. The front of the case houses the triangle power button, side LED strips, and front fan. The back fan and RGB strip allow for case lighting customization with Acer Predator.

The Orion 3000 performs admirably on productivity test results. One of my highest PCMark10 scores is 6712 points. I've tried a few other gaming PCs, but Cinebench 8135 was slower.

At its highest settings, the Orion 3000 offers lag-free 1080p 60 fps gaming. For 1440p/60fps gaming, the RTX 3060Ti GPU is excellent. The Orion didn't flinch between games on my Ultra-wide Prism+ X340Q. Using ray-tracing, Guardians of the Galaxy ran in 1440p, 21:9, and 60 frames per second. The Orion 3000 functioned without a hitch.

.Verdict

The Acer Predator Orion 3000 would remain in my setup. It satisfies my needs and is simple, lovely, and calm. Although you can add those components yourself, it could use a better CPU cooler and stronger case fans. not after having spent $2800. Similar systems on Mwave or Umart are more expensive.

With a redesigned casing and Intel 12th Gen processors, Acer will upgrade the Orion 3000, which should improve performance. This machine is exactly what it says it is, so you won't be disappointed.

The successor to Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3 will be more expensive

The announcement that Samsung would be presenting the Galaxy Z Flip 4 on August 10 has been public knowledge for some time now. This model is expected to be a success based on the sales data of the model that came before it. Pricebaba discovered that the product will be sold in Europe for a starting price of 1,080 euros and will feature 128 gigabytes of storage capacity.

You will be required to spend a total of 1,160 and 1,280 euros to purchase the 256 and 512 GB models, respectively. This second feature is an innovation; previously, there has not been a Galaxy Z Flip model with such a huge capacity for storage.

If these figures are accurate, it would suggest that there will be additional price rises considering that the Galaxy Z Flip 3 was released in Europe with a price tag of 1,049 euros. Naturally, mobile phone makers can raise prices even more readily than they did in the past by citing inflation. However, they may have a harder time of it if consumer spending continues to fall and there remain a large number of new handsets stored in warehouses. Since it came to light that Samsung is sitting on millions of unsold cellphones in its warehouses, Samsung is also impacted by this news.

The youngest professor in Poland

A professor is typically thought to be an experienced individual who cannot be considered young, at the very least. According to Professor Mateusz Hoda of the Jagiellonian University, who is also the youngest researcher to have a chair in Poland's history. Experience and skills are not always correlated with age.

Source : Onet.pl

Prof. Hoda holds two records. He was the first in the country to obtain a doctoral degree during his master's studies. He obtained the professorship before the age of 30.

He works with cardiomorphology, or the study of heart structure, every day. He is the head of a multidisciplinary team at Jagiellonian University conducting extensive research in this area.

He recalls that the beginnings were simple in an interview with Onet: "We started with a basement in the attic and a calliper acquired in a DIY store."

He modestly says of himself: "I don't think I'm better than other people. possibly more tenacious or diligent. "

The researcher emphasises that although there is still much to learn about the science of the heart, our knowledge has greatly increased.

He offers his patients three pieces of advice: lose weight, stay away from sweet and fatty foods, and walk more. A plea is also made to save the corpse after death for scientific purposes and to preserve the organs for transplantation.

He was 22 years old when he published his first research paper. H has been working in science for nine years, as research must be done before anything is published, and the initial papers took roughly two years.

Fear of gas supply freeze causes demand for fan heaters to boom in Germany

No one desires to sit in a frigid apartment during the winter. In the event of a severe gas shortage, more and more people are looking for alternative heat sources. Fan heaters and radiators are a straightforward solution.

Source: welt.de

In midsummer, the terrace must be equipped with fans, air conditioning, and radiant heaters. This year, no. Due to winter gas shortages, fan heaters, convector heaters, and oil radiators are best-sellers in hardware and electronics stores. Unlucky shoppers may find shelves empty.

German electronics shop Media Markt and Saturn reports above-average demand for electric heaters. "Our sales are up 100%," says Florian Preuss of Hornbach DIY. Recently, demand has risen.

Fear that Russia could turn off Europe's gas tap because of the Ukraine crisis is driving more and more people. Fear of a cold apartment and lower temperatures. In attempts to save gas, lowering apartment heating temperatures is also mentioned, and Vonovia has said it wants to cut nighttime temperatures in its residents' residences.

Fans, convectors, and radiators are cheap to buy. This leaves shelves unfilled. According to the DIY store, fan heaters had been delivered on Monday and sold out by Tuesday.

The market isn't empty, though. DIY retailer association BHB says supply isn't tight. Retailers can always rely on alternatives if a product or brand is out of stock.

Media Markt and Saturn said, "We stocked up early and are ready." Customers can locate suitable products in-store and online. Flexibility and patience help here.

"Dealers will try to stock up on more goods," says BVT's Steffen Kahnt. Before winter, more Far Eastern items can be brought here. He thinks suppliers can produce enough. No one needs more heaters globally. Only Europe is affected.

Some industry members see things differently. An unnamed industry expert predicts the matter will gain steam after the summer. People are on vacation during the heat wave. When autumn's first three frigid nights arrive, things get serious, he says.

Electrical heating should be a last resort. Plug in, heat comes. It's pricey, though. "That makes sense if the gas heating has fully failed and I need emergency warmth soon," said North Rhine-Westphalia energy expert Reinhard Loch. "But that's not sustainable." Electric heating is three times more expensive than gas. No signs of change.

Baluch insurgents killed Lt. Col Laiq Mirza. Or he died because of a botched operation

Source: dawnnews.tv

His body was found on the outskirts of Harnai District in Balochistan on Thursday morning.

Lt. Col. Laiq Baig Mirza was abducted along with his cousin Omar Javed from Warchoom area of Ziarat on Tuesday night while he was returning to Quetta with his family.

Lieutenant Colonel Mirza, stationed at DHA Quetta, was on his way to visit the Quaid-e-Azam Residency in Ziarat when 10 to 12 armed men stopped his vehicle on his way back, ISPR said in a statement. And kidnapped both men.

The army's quick reaction force was dispatched immediately after the abduction was reported, which revealed that the militants were advancing towards their hideouts near the Mangi Dam.

The militants shot Lt. Col. Mirza in the head and tried to flee when they saw the forces approaching.

Two terrorists were killed in the exchange of fire while the rest of the militants managed to escape along with another abducted Omar Javed.

This raises many questions. Miza was important to them not his cousin. They could have killed his cousin to put pressure on the army.

Dispute over grain exports, possibility of early agreement between Ukraine and Russia

Dispute over grain exports, possibility of early agreement between Ukraine and Russia

Following talks in Istanbul, the United Nations and Turkey have said that a final agreement on grain exports between Russia and Ukraine could be reached next week.

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres says negotiators from Russia and Ukraine could reach a formal agreement by next week on the delivery of grain exports via the Black Sea. It should be noted that delegations from Russia, Turkey, Ukraine and the United Nations had discussed the issue in Istanbul yesterday.

Antonio Guterres said the war in Ukraine had left millions of tons of grain stranded, which was agreed to be sent to world markets, and Russia should be allowed to send grain and fertilizer. Fertilizer prices have also risen sharply due to global sanctions on Russia, which has further impacted rising food prices. Hosts of the talks, Turkish Defense Minister Holosi Akar, said the two sides had agreed on ways to ensure joint control of ports and security of grain transit routes across the Black Sea.

An estimated 20 million tons of grain are currently stored in Ukraine. The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) says the war in Ukraine is threatening food supplies to many developing countries and has led to a sharp rise in global food prices. With more than 180 million people already starving, the crisis could worsen the situation.

Ukraine and Russia have planted hundreds of landmines around the Black Sea. Ukraine has refused to remove landmines amid fears that Russia could launch more attacks on its cities. The United Nations has suggested that grain be transported through safe corridors, avoiding landmines.

Adding a little extra salt to a meal shortens life

Significant health advantages will result from even a small reduction in sodium intake, which can be achieved by salting food less or not at all.

Pexels.com

Another study confirmed that eating too much salt can be fatal.

The European Heart Journal study of 500,000 middle-aged Britons found that those who always added salt to their food had a 28% increased likelihood of dying before age 75.

Adding a little extra salt to a meal shortens life by two years for men and 1.5 years for women, research shows.

The study followed individuals for nine years and recorded those who died before 75. Researchers observed a relationship between salt and early death after accounting for other life-shortening variables and disorders.

People who ate the most fruits and vegetables had a little lower risk, but not statistically significantly.

At age 50, women who always added salt lost an average of 1.5 years of life, while men died 2 to 3 years sooner.

Three in 100 adults between 40 and 69 die prematurely in the general population.

One in 100 people in this age bracket would die prematurely from adding salt to diet, according to the study.

Our study is the first to link salt to early death. New research to support diet-health guidelines. Even a slight reduction in sodium intake, by adding less or no salt to food at the table, is likely to result in considerable health advantages, said Prof. Lu Qi from Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine in New Orleans, USA.

A high-salt diet can raise blood pressure, raising the risk of heart attack or stroke. Adults should eat no more than 6 grammes of salt or 2.4 g of sodium per day, or about one teaspoon.

Researchers warn against reducing salt totally despite its adverse effects.

Given the signs that very low salt intake may be hazardous, it's vital to distinguish between individual recommendations and population-level initiatives, she added.

Prof. Annika Rosengren, a senior researcher and professor of medicine at the Sahlgrenska Academy of the University of Gothenburg in Sweden, said not adding extra salt to meals is probably not hazardous and could help lower the population's blood pressure

Is it a temple or a mosque? Hindus go to court in India

In more than ten areas in India, Hindus are aiming to replace existing mosques with temples. This new Hindu religious ardour is straining Hindu-Muslim ties.

Varanasi, one of the world's oldest cities, is tense. In Varanasi's Gyanvapi Mosque, there are minarets, a dome, and five daily prayers.

Sita Sahu, 40, is adamant: "It was never a mosque."

The structure was clearly a temple. One of the 17th-century white mosque's walls appears like an old brown temple wall. Historians agree that Aurangzeb razed a Hindu god Shiva temple and built the modern mosque on its foundations.

Under the mosque's dome, has the building always been a temple? Sahu agrees. She and four others want to worship Hindu gods at a mosque. Sita says the outer wall has a carving of Shringar Gauri. Women want to break down the mosque's walls to see if any gods remain.

This case has escalated mosque tensions. All entrances and access roads are carefully secured, and the dome is barricaded.

The mosque's counsel argued the court should have rejected Sahu's plea. He cites 1991's Places of Worship Act. It states that a house of worship must retain its religious character as of August 15, 1947, India's independence day. This is not the case. challengeable legally A judge declared in 1942 that the Gyanvapi Mosque and land are Islamic community property.

This rule was designed to prevent religious riots in India, which can easily result from such conflicts. An enraged mob of Hindus razed Babri Mosque in Ayodya a year after the law took effect, sparking religious violence. Riots murdered 2,000 Muslims.

BJP has long wanted to build a temple to the god Ram on the site of the demolished Babri Mosque. The SC permitted this in 2019. This was possible because the case predated 1991 and was a religious exception. 2020: Modi built the foundation.

In 2019, the Supreme Court ruled that mistakes from the past cannot be corrected.

Fanatical Hindus want to pull down any mosque built on the ruins of a Hindu temple before 1991. "It legalises savage invaders' criminal activities," a Supreme Court counsel said.

Hindus are challenging the existence of mosques and Islamic monuments. Even UNESCO World Heritage Sites like the Taj Mahal and Qutub Minar can't escape this.

Yadav, the lawyer for Varanasi's mosque management, says this threatens India's secular character. "Our constitution guarantees religious freedom for all. Religions are equal. Sahu and others may say this area is important to Hindus, but the mosque is too."

Sahu anticipates Yadav's arguments to protect the mosque to fail. "Muslims realise it's a temple. They'll realise we need the space for ceremonies."

Foods that cause weight gain as well as brain damage

High-fat diets can be bad for your mental health in addition to making you gain weight.

This was revealed in a medical study conducted in Australia.

According to the research from the University of South Australia, there is a direct connection between dementia, diabetes, and high-fat diets.

The study involved feeding rats a high-fat diet for 30 weeks, and it was found that weight gain had a detrimental impact on brain function.

The researchers noted that there is mounting proof connecting diabetes and obesity to Alzheimer's disease.

They added, "Diabetes and obesity have detrimental effects on the central nervous system, resulting in mental decline."

Eight-week-old mice were divided into two groups for the study; one group received a standard diet, while the other received a high-fat diet.

The rats' body weight, glucose levels, and insulin and brain functions were assessed throughout the experiment.

The findings revealed that rats fed a high-fat diet put on more weight, developed insulin resistance, and started to lose brain volume.

Obese people are twice as likely to develop diabetes and have a risk of depression that is 55% higher.

The findings highlight the significance of preventing obesity worldwide because obesity, advanced age, and diabetes all lead to a decline in brain function, which raises the risk of Alzheimer's disease and other neurological issues.

The results of the study were published in the medical journal Metabolic Brain Diseases

Vivo X80 Pro - design, build quality, ease of use

Vivo X80 Pro Vivo is a  smartphone with high-end cameras. Advanced photo modules, help from German Zeiss engineers, super-stabilized picture comparable to a gimbal, a matrix built particularly for Vivo in the basic module, and its own image processing are only the top of the photographic and technical iceberg that slammed the camera of the new Vivo X80 Pro.

Vivo

Vivo X80 Pro - design, build quality, ease of use

Vivo's top X series models (X51 Pro, X60 Pro, and X70 Pro)  are sleek, subtle-looking, light, and comfortable to use. The new X80 Pro can't be packaged with the same elegance. Particularly its back.

Right side of camera has enormous unused rectangle. Vivo stylists also placed an asymmetrical circle in a big rectangle, where just three camera modules are located. For symmetry, we replaced the fourth eyelet with the Zeiss logo, a mobile photography partner of Vivo. The fourth periscope tele module located on the camera island's lower left. It's a stylistic hodgepodge. Perhaps it was forced by structural issues with placing such an advanced camera portion, but it lacks beauty.

The X80 Pro camera island is larger than the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra camera part with an extra screen. This approach prevents the phone from wobbling on a flat surface.

The smartphone's matte, rough glass rear cover doesn't accumulate fingerprints, even in black (glossy camera section - on the contrary). Many will appreciate Vivo's waterproof flagship ( IP68 ).

The X80 Pro's matte back can surprise itself in high light, creating a unique artistic impact. Surprisingly, the rear panel is more slipperier than traditional glass.

The Vivo X80 Pro is taller, wider, thicker, and 36 grammes heavier than the Vivo X60 Pro. The phone is 165 x 75.9 x 11.6 mm (9.6 mm without the camera protrusion) and 223 grammes (237 grammes with the company case). The new flagship Vivo has a 6.68-inch, 120 Hz, QHD+ AMOLED screen manufactured using LTPO technology. Folded sides make the panel lighter.

Under the screen is a big ultrasonic fingerprint reader (about 2 x 3 centimeters). It allows you to easily and securely unlock your smartphone, as well as register and utilise two fingerprints at once for added protection - a bit excessive for the average user, but the idea is interesting.

Right side of frame has switch and volume control. We won't have trouble getting a finger on the X80 Pro despite its size. Comfortable height.

According to the manufacturer, the top of the housing is embellished with a plastic inlay reading professional photography. We already know this accent from prior X series devices, but I hate that the Vivo can't break out of it - even if it would make the housing structure more complex by requiring new antenna placement. This plastic doesn't match the rest of the housing. Let it not appear that I exclusively criticise Vivo... Xiaomi utilised the same method in the Mi 11 Ultra. Xiaomi 12 series this year doesn't have it.

The plastic insert also hides a microphone aperture and an IrDA port.

Lower frame is aluminium, thankfully. Here we see the main speaker grill from the stereo audio system (the second plays music through the headphone slot), the main microphone opening, the USB 3.1 type C socket, and a card tray that can hold two Nano SIM modules. Vivo X80 Pro has no card slot or headphone jack. Wire USB headphones come with the phone. Today, factory-set accessories are rare.

Factory Equipment

What's in the Vivo X80 Pro package besides USB headphones? A 80 W charger, a USB cable, a plastic cover to protect the phone's back and corners, and a SIM card tray ejector are included.

Speaker and headphone quality

The X80 Pro stereo audio system includes a wide-range bottom speaker and a quieter, smaller top driver. Such a combination creates a stereo effect but lacks volume symmetry. The sound is too flat and harsh for this type of smartphone. Xiaomi 12 Pro's audio system isn't dramatically better than the X80 Pro's, but it sounds richer and more balanced.

The provided headphones sound bass-heavy, with muffled middle and boosted treble. It's not a flagship headset, but for on-the-go listening, it's fine. Light and snug headphones are a plus.

We can connect minijack headphones to the X80 Pro's USB port with a cheap, passive adapter (not provided).

The Vivo X80 Pro lacks a graphic equaliser. We have a technology that improves sound from lossy compressed files, sound optimization when using Vivo and IQOO headphones, and sound calibration based on our hearing and the headphones used. It takes time and effort, but it's worthwhile.

Vivo X80 Pro - technical specifications, performance, battery

Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 is the only chipset for flagship phones. It can and is overall. On the Chinese market, Vivo X80 Pro also comes with a MediaTek Dimensity 9000 chip, and I'd be pleased to compare both models. I'm intrigued in the Chinese edition's ceramic housing.

For now, let's stick with the European version, which has 12 GB of RAM, 256 GB of data storage, 5G modem, Wi-Fi 6E card, Bluetooth 5.2 module, and NFC module.

The smartphone runs Android 12 with Funtouch OS's functional enhancements. Vivo has so far kept up with Android updates, which were dated June 2022.

Netflix brings surround sound to all devices. The feature is now available

Netflix's new surround sound system doesn't require a dedicated equipment. Ambeo, developed with Sennheiser, is already in the first series, including Stranger Things' fourth season. All users, regardless of subscription plan, can use the new option.

Netflix will provide movies and shows with Ambeo surround sound. The technology developed with Sennheiser transforms information from a standard surround mix (eg Dolby Atmos) so it can be played on stereo systems.

When the stereo is configured as the default audio output, the option is activated. If the user is not using a smartphone, Ambeo surround sound will be active when streaming in high quality. All Netflix subscribers can use it. In Dolby Atmos, you must get the top package.

Few projects feature modern surround sound. It includes Stranger Things, The Witcher, Red Note, and Resident Evil. Simply search Netflix for "Spatial Audio" to see which titles support the new method. Adding Ambeo isn't automated and involves extra work, so more content will take time. Sennheiser says the conversion is straightforward and quick.

New Nvidia cards are getting closer. We know the next details

Nvidia will likely release new GeForce RTX 40XX graphics cards later this year, starting with the RTX 4090.

The most powerful GeForce RTX 4090 was supposed to be released in August, but Nvidia may delay it. Because Nvidia's partners have so many RTX 30XX systems.

Nvidia

The renegotiation of Nvidia's deal for new 5 nm cores from TSMC was a debacle. Only Nvidia's delivery delays will continue.

Until recently, most was known about the flagship RTX-e 4090. Now, a Twitter user with the username Kopite7nymi discloses more facts, including the flagship core clock and the weaker RTX 4080 and 4070.

The flagship will include 126 stream multiprocessors (SM) and 16,128 CUDA cores, based on the AD102 core. 384-bit bus will connect 24 GB of 21,000 MHz GDDR6X memory to the core. The base core clock will be 2235 MHz and can be increased to 2750 MHz, according to the latest leaks.

This is a big improvement, given the current RTX 3090 turbo mode is set to 1695 MHz (not including proprietary versions, which are normally higher).

The AD103-based RTX 4080 would have 80 stream multiprocessors (SM) translating to 10240 CUDA cores and 16 GB of GDDR6X 21 Gbps memory coupled via a 256-bit bus. The 12GB RTX 3080 already features a 384-bit memory bus. Chip TDP is 420 W.

The RTX 4070, the weakest Lovelace-based card, uses the AD104 core. According to published information, this has 56 stream multiprocessors (SM) and 7168 CUDA cores. The memory bus will be 160 bits, while the RTX 3060 has 192. This will connect to 10 GB of GDDR6 18 Gbps RAM with a 300 W TDP.

The crisis on the semiconductor market will come back? The US wants to cut China off from production machines

US and Dutch officials want to ban semiconductor equipment shipments to China.

The US wants to restrict China's access to industrial machines. No EUV machines or components can go to China without US approval. Americans are lobbying to ban outdated deep ultraviolet (DUV) devices.

A ban would cut China off from the machinery needed to create semiconductors, as only a few businesses build them, with the Dutch ASML Holdings holding the highest market share (60%). Applied Materials (AMAT), Tokyo Electron, Canon, Nikon, KLA Corp., Lam Research, and SUSS Microtek are next.

This would restrict Chinese semiconductor manufacturers from producing a billion chips a day in 2020. The Chinese can't create the latest systems because they lack EUV technology, but can mass-produce older systems for vehicles, computers, laptops, and other common products.

The main Chinese semiconductor manufacturers are Hua Hong, Semiconductor Manufacturing International Co. (SMIC), and YMTC. In the PRC, giants like TSMC, Samsung, and SK Hynix have older production procedures, e.g. memory bones used in SSD discs or RAM modules. Bloomberg believes China's factories contributed 16%. 2021 ASML sales.

American efforts to remove ASML from China are difficult. Japanese corporations may fill the void left by the Dutch's likely withdrawal. They don't have much production capability, though. US pressure is possible.

Cutting China off from production machines will aggravate the semiconductor market situation, which has lessened this year but remains an issue.

Do you feel hungry before going to bed?

Eating late (or before bed) is unhealthy, as we've heard. Why? How about cyclical hunger before bed? Not a good sign.

Hunger before bedtime - the most common causes

Too few valuable meals during the day

Skipping meals, fasting, or eating too little will cause nutritional deficiencies. So, balance meals and eat regularly. Even a small, healthy breakfast will jumpstart our metabolism.

You sleep too little

Sleep has many benefits. Koryzol, the stress hormone, is one. Insufficient sleep causes the body to produce too much. This can lead to snacking between meals. Nighttime cravings for fatty or sweet foods are common. Let's determine how much sleep we need to feel rested and try to get enough sleep.

Emotional hunger

It's common but hard to spot. Emotional overeating is harmful. We'll briefly feel better after eating. Hunger and neglected feelings will return, creating a cycle. Dietary culture raises many questions. Following fashion trends blindly can cause emotional issues and an unhealthy relationship with food. Consult a specialist before blindly searching for a way to lose weight. Tormenting ourselves with a diet and not eating dinner when hungry is bad. Mind your body.

Motorola Moto G22 review

Motorola G22 is an inexpensive entry-level smartphone that performs well. It satisfies lesser needs and is appropriate for light mobile phone users. It has Android 12 and a great battery life. The IP-certified dust and water protection is a plus for equipment. The camera is poor, the display is dark, and other equipment is minimal.

Source: Motorola

Motorola G22's equipment list isn't as fresh as dew, but it's fine at 160 euros. IP52 dust and water protection is rare in this price bracket. The NFC chip facilitates cashless phone payments, while Bluetooth 5.0 connects wireless devices like headphones. The headphone output is in addition to the Type-C USB 2.0 port. This is linked to the quick-charging power supply.

64GB of internal memory may be increased using a memory card. The memory card doesn't occupy one of the dual SIM slots, unlike some smartphones.

Old 4G network with 150 Mbit/s LTE speed. ac-WLAN includes WiFi 5, which was succeeded by WiFi 6. Notifications appear on the screen, not the case's LED. Fingerprint or facial recognition unlock the G22 like a PIN.

Performance is ensured by a 2,300 MHz Mediatek Helio G37 CPU and 4 GB of RAM. This is a good price-to-performance ratio for editing emails, perusing the web, and streaming films. Applications shouldn't be overly performance-intensive, especially for graphics.

Display and camera

The 6.6-inch screen offers 1,600 x 720 pixels. The consequence is huge pixel spacing and a low pixel density of 267 ppi. Reading is hazy on the screen. The maximum brightness is just 292 cd/m2. In bright environments, like direct sunshine, it's hard to read. Poor colouring. We estimate 98% coverage in RGB. In DCI-P3, it's 72%. 90 Hz is a good refresh rate. Moving graphics scroll more smoothly, for example.

The G22's poor quad camera also hurts. In daylight, photos are of decent quality, but colours are weak; they seem grey. Poor light reduces image quality. Full HD (1920x1080) videos may only be recorded at 30 fps. No slow motion. There are cheaper smartphones with a better price-to-performance ratio than the G22.

The Motorola's battery lasted over 14 hours. However, charging takes approximately 3 hours. 5,000 mAh batteries can be charged in an hour using today's technology. After 30 minutes on a 10-watt power supply, the G22 can run for 3 hours online with only 21% charge.

Oppo has introduced the Enco X2 ANC headphones.

These headphones are worth your attention.

Oppo Enco X2's first impressions are positive. Standard sets include three rubber bands (S, M, L), a USB-A to USB-C cable, a user manual, and a warranty card.

Oppo

The set includes a charging case in the form of a "luxurious" oval tablet measuring 66 x 49.3 x 22.7 mm and weighing 47 grammes. It fits in your hand or small pockets and lets you open with one hand, which is very convenient. The only aluminium part of this "slippery" high-quality plastic case is the bracket.

The Oppo Enco X2 case has a

Oppo

USB-C charging port, a hidden function button, an information LED on the outside and inside, and decorative elements. The grey name of the manufacturer on the lid and information about Oppo and Dynaudio are minimalist but eye-catching additions. The company with extensive music experience was supposed to give Oppo Enco X2 a high-quality sound.

The 4.7-gram headphones have a standard "Apple" design, with a touchpad on the "stem." At the bottom of the latter are charging contacts and a microphone. Here, pay special attention to the rubber band shape on the handle, which allows the internal microphone to work. Antibacterial and dirt-resistant rubber bands have oval holes protected by mesh, which was damaged during my tests.

IP54 certification confirms that the headphones (not the case) are dust- and moisture-resistant. Case has 566-mAh battery and headphones have 57 mAh. Wire or wireless charging fully charges the Oppo Enco X2 in 90 minutes. Depending on the codec and mode (ANC or spatial), the battery lasts 9.5 to 6.5 hours, which the case extends to 27 and 40 hours. After inserting the headphones into a charged case, it takes 15 minutes to reach 50%, 35 minutes to reach 80%, and an hour to reach 100%.

The brand's flagship app has both traditional and extra features. In the app, we can check the charge level of the headphones and case, update the firmware, adjust the control options, and scan our ear canals for matching rubber bands.

HeyMelody can also be used to test our hearing aid by adjusting the sound within predefined profiles, selecting a codec, or activating game mode (lower quality, but also lower delay). Most important? Connecting to two devices at once and using only one earphone. Enco X2 helps Google Fast Pair from the start.

The Enco X2's unusual touch functions take hours to master. If you're used to the ANC headphones' standard 'taps' The Enco X2 requires two fingers (apart from driving along the stalk to adjust the volume level). It's hard for me to say whether squeezing the stem is better than standard touches. It requires more attention and is more complicated, but we avoid accidental activation and don't push the headphones deeper into the ear canal.

11-mm dynamic and 6-mm planar drivers and Bluetooth 5.2 ensure sound quality and connection stability. Thanks to Oppo's partnership with Dynaudio, we can count on a stable connection, low delay, and unique sound quality. Enco X2 supports LHDC 4.0, AAC, and a non-standard frequency response of 20-40,000 Hz, which are all improvements over the original model.

ANC mode, after activating intelligent intensity management, eliminates every, even persistent noise to a barely audible level (Oppo boasts an efficiency of up to 45 dB for a reason). When driving a car and tilting the window, Enco X2 can mute 80-90% of noise, while ambient mode only slightly dampens and distorts environmental sounds.

Raider X helicopter armament revealed in graphics and new photos

Lockheed Martin's Sikorsky has been talking up its Raider X helicopter. View the Raider X helicopter's prototype and weapons.

Armament of the Raider X aircraft disclosed in images and diagrams

Raider X helicopter

Lockheed Martin's Sikorsky introduced the Raider X recon helicopter in October 2019 for quick reconnaissance and strikes. The proposal competes with Boeing's 360 Invictus for the US Army's FARA programme. Sikorsky has 98% of the parts needed to finish the Raider, and the helicopter is 90% complete, according to Jay Macklin, head of development for Sikorsky Army Programs and Innovations.

Above is official art of the Raider X prototype with Hellfire rounds and a 20mm rifle. The American helicopter company showed a shot of the Raider X prototype alongside the graphics. This photo from the company's West Palm Beach, Florida, testing site confirms the weapons.

Lockheed Martin said Raider X uses production methods from CH-53K, CH-148, and F-35. This reduces deployment costs and simplifies upgrading the base and equipment to meet future hazards. Radier X's avionics and mission systems use MOSA and fly-by-wire technologies. Plug-and-play sensor, module, and weapon configurations increase versatility and survivability.

Sikorsky's work is based on the S-97 Raider and X2. The Raider X is a coaxial, counter-rotating rotorcraft with a rear-mounted propeller. This link will power the General Electric T901-GE-900 (GE3000) turboshaft engine, limiting the Radier X's speed, altitude, and manoeuvrability.

Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE: a brand-new model with a stylish design and powerful performance

A new version of the Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G, which has already won praise for its computing prowess and flat design, is now available from the Chinese manufacturer as the Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE. Is it worthwhile to update?

Source: Xiaomi

The Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G is now available in a new edition that goes by the catchy acronym NE (New Edition), differs from the prior model only in terms of the processor, and otherwise retains the benefits already mentioned. For whom is the purchase worthwhile?

Design

Despite its not exactly small size of 160.5 x 76 x 6.8 mm, the Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE weighs only 158 grams and feels comfortable in the hand. The frame looks high-quality despite being made of plastic. There are no sharp edges or uneven gaps, which is a testament to the craftsmanship. The volume control and power switch are on the left. The power button performs a little better, but the volume control has a lot more latitude in terms of stroke and guidance. However, it doesn't seem to be very high-quality. The back is made of glass.

The square camera module sticks out from the case by almost 2 millimeters, but the smartphone is still stable when placed on a flat surface. Only a few fingerprints can be found on the matte back. The front camera is located on the display's upper left edge. The screen's edges are visible, but they are narrow enough and appropriate for the price range. There are speakers and a USB-C port at the base. There is no jack connection. The decision to do without a jack connection is now being made more and more frequently by manufacturers and can therefore only be criticized to a limited extent.

screen

The HDR10+-capable OLED screen has a diameter of 6.55 inches and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The cell phone should withstand a fall from a height of up to 1.6 meters with a high probability unscathed - but no user should rely on that. With a resolution of 2,400 x 1,088 pixels, the ppi value is 402, and the display is correspondingly sharp. For the asking price, that's really decent. The screen brightness of almost 800 cd/m² is also commendable in the Lite model's price range. The display is easy to read, especially in direct sunlight, and there is nothing wrong with the picture angle stability.

The contrast is impeccable, and the sharp display of menu navigation and text in the browser for graphics and images is equally convincing in everyday use. The 90 Hz refresh rate enables smooth scrolling, and you can also switch to the battery-saving 60 Hz mode if required. As a highlight, the screen offers a sampling rate of 240 Hertz, which ensures a more precise sampling rate. According to the manufacturer, this should be particularly noticeable in games where a quick reaction is important. However, most users will not notice this in everyday life.

Camera

The Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE features a camera module with a square shape. The primary camera has 64 megapixels and an aperture of f/1.79. The module is also equipped with an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera with an aperture of f/2.2 and a 5-megapixel macro lens with an aperture of f/2.4. The selfie camera uses 20 megapixels and an f/2.24 aperture.

The primary camera passes the practical test. The colors of the motifs are reproduced naturally, but they can be modified in the software editor if desired. In the close-up of the dog Wilma, the individual hairs and minute details can be distinguished with clarity. As always, the macro mode is disappointing.

The night mode could have also been improved; the motifs lack the proper contours and sharpness, and the enhancement of residual light is insufficient. As required, 4K video can be captured with a resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels and 30 frames per second. Optionally, 60 frames per second can be captured with 1080p. The software image stabilizer performs adequately and produces usable video content, even though more demanding users may prefer the Xiaomi 12 (review), which is in a different price league. The selfie camera is adequate, but the bokeh effect appears artificial rather than natural.

Regarding its camera, the Xiaomi 11 Lite 5 G NE does not need to conceal itself. In the middle class, it is possible to meet the demands of daily life, but if you want more, you must dig deeper into your pockets.

The Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE's hardware consists of a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G, which belongs to the upper middle class in terms of performance and is a perfect fit for the asking price. The predecessor Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G featured a Qualcomm Snapdragon 780 manufactured with a 5-nanometer process. The Snapdragon 778G, on the other hand, has a thickness of six nanometers, but this difference is hardly noticeable in daily life.

The maximum clock speed of the eight cores is 2.4 gigahertz. Together with 6 or 8 gigabytes of LPDDR4X RAM, the Qualcomm Adreno 642L GPU is responsible for the smartphone's brisk day-to-day performance in terms of graphics. This is also evident in the PCMark Work performance test, where the device received an excellent score of 8588. Contrastingly, the Oppo A76 (test report), which costs 200 euros and scores 6800 points, is also noteworthy. However, the Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE goes one step further. The current test phone performs admirably as well, scoring 2491 on the difficult 3DMark Wildlife test. This is really quite a remarkable accomplishment for the asking price. You can choose between 6 and 8 gigabytes of RAM with 128 gigabytes and 8 gigabytes of RAM with 256 gigabytes of storage space when it comes to memory. This can be increased if necessary via a micro SD slot to a maximum of 1 terabyte. An alternative is to use two SIM cards simultaneously.

Android 11 is the default operating system for the Xiaomi 11 Lite 5 G NE, but an update to Android 12 is currently accessible. From MIUI 12.5 to MIUI 13, the user interface has also been improved, adding features like a new sidebar and enhanced clock and weather apps. The security patch is current and dates from April 2022, but it needs to be updated right away.

Battery pack

With 4250 mAh, the battery could have been a little bit bigger, but given the Xiaomi 11 Lite 5 G NE's compact design and affordable price, that's still acceptable. Despite the relatively small battery, the smartphone performs admirably in PCmark's battery test, lasting 13 hours in 90 Hertz mode. This indicates that the smartphone has enough energy capacity to be used for two days straight without recharging. The delivery includes a 33-watt fast-charge charger that can charge the battery to more than half of its capacity in just 30 minutes

Analyst: Apple's own 5G modems not in iPhone 15 yet

Apple reportedly needs to keep buying 5G modems from Qualcomm, so Qualcomm should be happy about that. It's unlikely that a separate chip will be ready in time.

In 2023, Qualcomm will probably continue to count Apple as one of its top 5G modem clients. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo tweeted that Apple's efforts to introduce its own modem chip with the iPhone 15 next year likely failed. Kuo maintains strong relationships within the Asian supplier industry. In 2019, Apple acquired Intel's modem division to develop its own chips.

Qualcomm officials had already warned investors that 80 percent of Apple's business could cease to exist by 2023, so the news comes as a surprise. However, industry insiders continue to believe that Apple could make its first attempts with its own modem chip as early as 2023, at least for a device with fewer sales, such as an iPad. The sheer quantity of iPhones poses a significant obstacle.

Apple's pursuit of a modem chip focuses on enhanced performance and power efficiency. If Apple takes over the development itself, the margins for the iPhone should also increase due to the volume of chips required. The modem has reportedly been in development for five years. Subsidiaries in Germany also have a significant share in the development.
